Samsa of puff pastry
Ingredients for making samsa:
1-2 teaspons salt
Mix of Spices for Samsa
To make dough, add egg, water, salt and water. Let it stand for 20-30 minutes. The dough should be slightly soft but should not stick to the table or hands
Now you should layer the dough. Roll out dough into thin layer and grease surface with melted margerine. Then roll up the dough tightly forming an envelope and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Take the dough and roll it out without opening “envelope”. Repeat at least three times. Put envelopes into plastic bag and leave it in the fridge for another 15-20 minutes so that the dough absorbs oil.
For the filling, cut 500 g. of meat into small cubes, combine with chopped onions. At the end add Mix of Spices for Samsa and salt to your liking.
To form samsa, take out the dough from fridge and roll it out into a big square, grease it with melted margarine and and cheat the dough onto the rolling pin in the form of a roll. Now cut the dough along the rolling pin. Now you have a puff pastry with layers that can be easily separated from each other. However, do not do that. Cut the dough into smaller flat squares to form samsas.
Place a small amount of filling in the center of each square and bring corners together to form envelopes, pinch the opposite corners to each other. Grease samsas with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Place them in the oven for 20-30 minutes. During baking the dough layers will lift and slightly separate from each other. This will give samsa beautiful and very appetizing look.
